Echo Round

Echo Round is a top-down arcade shooter built around one idea: you only get 15 seconds, then time rewinds, and a ghost of everything you just did replays beside you.

Kill every enemy in the room within a single loop. You can't do it alone, so you stack your own past runs: one echo draws fire, another flanks, a third holds a door open while you walk through. But echo bullets hurt everyone, including you, so plan your routes.

How it works

• One hit kills you. Every enemy resets each loop.
• Each finished loop becomes an echo that replays exactly.
• Die and that attempt is thrown away: retry the same loop.
• Clear the arena in as few loops as possible for an S rank.
• Space commits a loop early, Backspace undoes your last echo.

What's inside

• 10 hand-built arenas that each teach one new idea
• Turrets, patrols, rushers, shielders, snipers, and a boss that only bleeds when two of you hit it at once
• Pistol, shotgun, and delay grenades that explode one loop after you throw them
• Pressure plates and doors (an echo can hold the plate for you) and breakable glass
• All visuals and audio generated in code. Made with Godot 4.

Controls

• Move: WASD / arrow keys (gamepad: left stick)
• Aim + shoot: mouse + left click (gamepad: right stick + right trigger)
• Grenade: right click
• Commit loop early: Space
• Undo last echo: Backspace
• Restart arena: hold R
• Pause: Esc

Mac players

The Mac build is not signed with an Apple certificate. After unzipping, run this once in Terminal, then open the app normally: xattr -cr "Echo Round.app" (or right-click the app and choose Open). The Mac build is untested on real hardware, so please tell me if something is wrong.

This is an early build and the difficulty is still being tuned. Feedback welcome!
